My friends have problem as I tend to forget the things so often. Yes it can potentially lead to catastrophic failure in some others life.. who knows.
Explanation on why I tend to forget the things so often.
General human brain always in the analysis mode as to get the answer of the question “Why”.
If you hear a thing which you have never heard then your brain will start a multi thread to analyze the thing and get to a solution. Solution is stable state of the brain.
Now it depends on how much processing is utilized by your brain in getting the solution.
If it 50% then rest 50% is enough for you to do your regular activities.
But then what we use is only 60% of the total processing capabilities of the brain.
Now if your brain suddenly switches to heavy processing mode, which will be the case if you are unable to get the answer in short period.
Now you will use the power which you have reserved for the normal operation.
Normal operation means walking, sitting typing and other necessary activities.
Task is like an interrupt, what you remember first is time and then an event.
There are multiple events some are non mask able like nature’s call.
But other are all masked by our brain if he is not getting any processing power for it to service the routine.
I need to go out at 5.00PM is an event, and to teach the car is a task. But then when my brain is heavily utilized in some unanswered question then this event gets masked.
May be this is the reason why I tend to forget the things so often.
Also it depends where you save the task.
Human brain is first CPU to have multi threading. Some have three to four processing’s happening at same time or even more then that.
Take a example of flute player who has to read the notation’s, then decode then, blow the intensity of air according to the note pitch and move the fingers over the holes.
Or take an example of the keyboard typist.
This will require enormous processing from brain. But then human brain has a tendency to adapt to things, we know it as neural networks. This adaptation process will reduce the CPU (brain) utilization.
In turn one will have more power to do other things.
Adaptation process will require more of the short term memory like scratch pad memory. This will be utilized to keep some chunk of the processed data and then erase it with new set of data.
Our brain will be mostly in the adaptation phase till some years which makes the little ones an easy task to learn and adapt to things quickly then fully grown adult.
Now your brain is equipped with scratch pad and Dynamic storage ram. Now it all depends on where your brain saves the task for you.
